Sound Failures

Sound problems are not always hardware related. Sometimes they can be caused by the mute key being active or bad drivers. We've had both.
However, if your desktop is in need of repair because the sound card is bad, you're in luck! It's an easy fix and we can usually do it for $35 plus parts (which are about the same price).

Laptops are a bit trickier. 99% of all laptops come with the sound integrated into the motherboard, making it necessary to replace the whole board. Sometimes it can be the speakers themselves which are fault and that's a much less expensive fix. You can determine this by plugging in some headphones. If you hear sound then it's probably just the internal speakers.
