Ram / Memory Problems

RAM (Random Access Memory) is basically super fast temporary storage. Whenever your computer needs to access data on your computer, it will store that data in the RAM so that it can retrieve it quickly. If your computer does not have enough RAM then Windows (or OS X, if you're using a Mac) will have to use your hard drive to store it. This drastically decreases the overall speed of your computer.

When parts of your RAM modules go bad, you will often encounter what we techs like to call the dreaded BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death). You can check your RAM for errors by either downloading a copy of MemTest86 or using Vista/Windows 7's built in boot utility.

If you're encountering a BSOD and you believe it to be memory related, just bring your computer on in and we'll diagnosis it and inform you about the steps needed to repair it.
