Hard Drive Failure

All hard drives fail. The question is not if, it's when. It's just a matter of time. Most traditional hard drives last between 3 and 5 years. Newer solid state drives (SSD) can last between 5 to 10 years.

You can increase the life expectancy of your hard drive by defragmenting regularly and running chkdsk to scan and repair hard drive errors.

And as always, it is critically important to back up your important files so that when your hard drive does fail, you won't have to disk out thousands of dollars for a data recovery.

However, in the unlikely event that your hard drive has crashed, we offer data recovery for about $200-400 if it's not a mechanical failure. Most companies charge anywhere between $1000 to 1500 for a hard drive repair.
