Faulty Inverter Board

So you turned your computer on today and for a moment thought the monitor was bad because nothing showed up on the screen. But then you tilted it toward the light and saw that it was just a lighting issue. Before you try to replace the backlight or even the monitor itself, you might want to have us test the inverter board first.

LCD Inverter Board

The inverterboard's main purpose is to convert one DC voltage to another by inverting the DC to AC, running through a transformer, rectifier, regulator to output the new DC voltage. An LCD uses a different voltage than your laptop does and therefore needs to be inverted.

Most LCD issues can be repaired by replacing the inverter board.
