In fact, my friend ad written off having her computer repaired because the quote from others was so high, and TACC Support fixed it for less than half! She is now able to finish the novel she wrote that was stuck in the computer with the hardware problem.

"Some pictures got deleted from my hard drive that were not supposed to be. They were able to recover all of the pictures, and even tried to explain how they did it when I was convinced they used magic. While they had my computer, Daniel noticed some things he could do to make it run more efficiently and offered to take care of them as well. "I called TACC in a semi-panic after I mistakenly deleted everything on my flash drive, which had 5 years worth of important personal documents and photos. Daniel said he thought they could recover it. He did -- within a day and a half. "TACC has lived up to it's motto of 'making I.T. personal.' I'm a DJ, and my external hard drive, the one that holds all my music, crashed about five days before my next event. I found out about TACC through a local coffee shop (The Hydrant Cafe), who recommended them and gave me their number. I made a call that afternoon, and was able to bring my hard drive in thirty minutes later. They immediately treated me with professional customer service, not only explaining a few theories as to what might be wrong, but also explaining what they were going to do to fix it. It was supposed to be fixed before the end of the day, and even though my hard drive gave them some extra problems to deal with along the way, they kept it overnight and gave me updates as to how it was progressing the next day. TACC saved my hard drive from extinction by moving all of its contents onto a newer, faster, better hard drive, showing me market prices for new hard drives, and offering to sell me their hard drive for less than the market value. I took them up on it, and haven't had any issues since. They even installed new anti-virus software for free! If I ever have any computer problems in the future, I'm definitely going to come back to them."  <– less

"Got a severe virus on my laptop while on a business trip in the Dallas area. Did a quick online search on the hotel's system for help and TACC came up. I read all their reviews and then contacted them the first thing the next morning. They said just drop it off as soon as possible and they would see what they could do to fix my problems. I was there by 9:00 am, and by early afternoon, everything had been cleaned up and my laptop was back to working perfectly. "I've never heard of a place that does free diagnostics on PC's. Not only did this bring me in the door, but the service was great, the techs were knowledgeable, and best of all, the price was great. My experience was the complete opposite of what most expect from a PC repair place. They took the time to answer any questions I had, they were prompt, and they were easy to work with. These guys took the hassle out of an annoying problem. I can't imagine recommending that anyone go someplace else. Just be aware that it's currently tucked away in a back office, so it's a little tough to find. Also, they had to charge a small % extra for credit card transactions, so bring cash or a check. "I brought them my HP laptop for a free diagnosis. The screen just went blank on me and never came back up. I took it to them and within a couple of days, they found out the issue. They personally called HP and found out that it was a known problem with these laptops. Although my laptop was no longer under warranty, they were able to get them to repair it for free and then TACC did not charge me either! Daniel was always polite and helpful. "The wireless link on my wife's laptop had stopped working. She took it back to the retailer where we purchased it ~3 years ago. Though the warranty had expired, they provide a free diagnostic service. The tech told her the problem was a worm, and that he could probably fix it, but we were likely to lose much of the info stored on the hard drive. We would also need to get a different virus scan installed. I was put in contact with Daniel, who determined within a few clicks of the mouse that the problem was almost certainly not a worm, but rather an intermittent switch. "TACC diagnosed my computer free of charge when they decided the computer must be sent to the manufacturer to get fixed. This was really generous considering TACC still spent their time trying to fix what turned out to be a mfg defect. Once I got my computer back from the manufacturer, it was running really really slow and over heating. TACC took it home over night, sped it up like brand new and it's no longer over heating! "I had just bought an HP mini back in April for a business trip and while I was on the trip, I spilled water on the keyboard - rendering it useless. I called Geek Squad at Best Buy and they wanted to share me around $200 just to LOOK at it and "diagnose" it. If I had to spend more than $200 I figured I would just replace it with a cheaper model. Another repair man told me it would be more than that, so I just wrote it off as a loss. Then I heard about TACC and decided to just send them an email to see if they thought it was fixable, and in my budget of less than $200.
